Film News – Arrow Books to Release Three Brand New Books!

Over at We Make Movies on Weekends Towers, we perform experiments on unwitting* subjects, and we know what you’re thinking.

You are currently thinking: “Watching films is wonderful and all, but what I really want is an in depth study of some of my favourite films and actors in written form, that I can peruse at my own leisure.”

Well think about that no more, as Arrow Books is releasing three brand new, in-depth looks at these exact topics!

First up is Unchained Melody: The Films of Meiko Kaji. This book takes a look at the life of the acclaimed and iconic Japanese action star and how she defined cult cinema for over a decade.

Next up is Ghost in the Shell, which takes a look at the 1995 sci-fi cult classic and links its roots from the manga to its final release, whilst also discussing its ties to Blade Runner as well as Japanese views on robotics.

Finally, we have the Blair Witch Project, a tome that takes a look at the 1999 film that redefined and revitalised the horror genre from a filmmaking standpoint as well as marketing.

All of these books are compelling reads, and the cover artwork is absolutely divine for all three. These books would make a great addition to anybody’s coffee table.

All three books will be released by Arrow Books on July 31st!

*By unwitting, we mean completely willing and treated well. We certainly don’t abduct people off the street to perform nefarious deeds.
