There has been nothing but praise for comedy writer Kumail Nanjiani’s The Big Sick. This romantic comedy, starring Nanjiani, Zoe Kazan, Holly Hunter, and Ray Romano, has apparently set a new standard for romantic comedies and the trailer certainly looks to be that way.

Wrriten by Nanjiani and his wife Emily V. Gordon, The Big Sick takes their relationship to the big screen. The film revolves around a couple who struggle with challenges of his conservative Muslim upbringing and break up. During that time, Emily falls sick and is put into a coma and Kumail tends to her side, putting up with her parents who don’t want him there.

Funny, tender, and with an interesting spin, this romantic comedy is certainly one to watch.
