Despite it sounding like what happens when you touch a tree after it’s been hit by lightning, Woodshock is a curious little drama starring Kirsten Dunst and written and directed by Laura and Kate Mulleavy, two fashion designers whose only other cinematic jaunts have been designing the costumes for Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan.
The story revolves around Theresa as she becomes more and more paranoid after taking an experimental drug. A somewhat intriguing premise, but ultimately only just enough to make you keep an eye on the film’s development in a half-hearted manner.
At least the trailers are full of lovely cinematic shots to keep you satiated, but will it be more style than substance?
Only time will tell.
