Sometimes, it feels like it’s getting harder and harder to come up with a plot involving an invasion of a country without the distinct possibility of it becoming a frightening reality a few years down the line.
Such is the case for the upcoming film Bushwick. Which looks to be Red Dawn if the invaders were American and the resistance fighters were a former wrestler who doesn’t understand metaphors and an acapella singer for an Ivy League University, which is then mixed together with a healthy dollop of The Purge for good measure.
It’s really hard to tell if this film will go down well, if it will flop, or, years from now, if it will be used by a conspiracy theorist as prof that the general population knew of the “Glorious Leader’s” masterplan for the human race.
Bushwick is out in cinemas August 28th!
