Black comedy surrealist director Bong Joon-ho has given us some terrific and wonderful films, polarising critics and audiences worldwide including Snowpiercer and The Host.
Now he has returned with Okja. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Tilda Swinton, the film revolves around a multi-national company who attempts to still the titular character, a massive and unusual animal. Only Mija, best friend to the animal, can stop them.
With positive reports already coming from Cannes, (plus a few negatives about Netflix,) Okja could be a genuinely brilliant film and looks intriguing.
Okja is out on Netflix June 28
