Now, the end is near, and so we face the final curtain.
Well, we can say that for Peter Capaldi in his role as the Doctor at any rate. Doctor Who is still set to continue for a long while yet.
Despite mixed reactions to his time in the TARDIS (some of the plots in the last series were absolutely dire!) Capaldi has certainly portrayed a very different Doctor in comparison to his predecessors. While his (and, possibly more importantly, Moffatt’s) leaving, there will be plenty of celebration from many and commiserations from the few.
But before he leaves, there is still one more action-packed series for Capaldi to sink his teeth into, and the show apparently intends to deliver. The latest trailer comprises of clips from numerous episodes of some of the villains that the Doctor and co. will be facing, including lots of CGI effects and (inevitably) Daleks and Cybermen.
Here’s hoping that the latest series can dial back on the technobabble and bring back great storylines, gripping dialogue and remind us of what the show used to be before it began to get bogged down in all the fluff.
