It’s been many a long year since the original Trainspotting came out, just over twenty to be precise.
In that time, we have seen government’s rise and fall; superheroes dominate our screens and a slew of other events that are some sort of combination of important and banal. But I digress.
January 27th sees Danny Boyle’s sequel to Irvine Welsh’s original story of drug addicts arrive on the big screen, featuring the original cast and catching up with them twenty years on.
Of course, two decades is a mighty long time when you’re talking about films, and there’s now a whole generation who don’t know who Renton, Spud, Begbie and Sick Boy are, nor where they came from.
Fortunately, The Ritzy in Brixton has you sorted, because on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th of January, Late Nights at the Ritzy will be showing the first Trainspotting film at 22:30 both nights!
Grab your ticket and don’t be late. It’s going to be magical!
