As if animation fans and film lovers alike were not excited enough by the news that Aardman had begun production on their next feature, Early Man. Starring Oscar winner and Fantastic Beast hunting Eddie Redmayne and directed by studio veteran Nick Park. The Claymation studio, responsible for Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run as well as Shaun the Sheep take their time between features so news of a new films is always a treat. Now Aardman Animations and StudioCanal have announced that British fox Tom Hiddleston has been added to the cast as the films main villain.
Early Man, set in the prehistoric age centres around Dug and his lovable sidekick Hognob. Living in their Stone Age abode, the pairs attempt to unite their tribe against the Bronze Age results in the accidental invention of football.
Hiddleston joins the cast as Lord Nooth, governor of Bronze Age town. Like many of Aardman’s villains he is snooty and money hungry. Could this Nooth character give The Cures of the Were-Rabbit’s Victor Quartermaine a run for his money? Or that evil silent Penguin?
Fans will just have to wait and see when the film is released January 2018. So Aardman fans and all you Hiddlestoners rejoice. Hiddleboners at the ready!
