When it comes to stop motion animation, regardless of how fluid the final product is, it is important to recognise how tremendous the artistry is. The painstaking moments of craft within a superb film, it’s a lot of hard work and the fruits of Laika’s labour have always been bountiful!
Kubo and the Two Strings is nothing different.
The plot follows the titular character, a kind boy from a simple Japanese town, as he goes on a quest to save his family from a vengeful demon (which Kubo accidentally released – oops). Teamed with Monkey and Beetle, Kubo must fight gods and monsters in order to fulfil his destiny.
Look, if you really want to go and watch an enriching, beguiling, impressive, wonderful, glorious, beautiful, enchanting, and truly wonderful film that both adults and children will enjoy, then watch Kubo. The absolute passion and hard work that went into perfecting this film is clear.
Go support a vibrant and amazing film.
