Ron Howard is one of the world’s greatest directors. He really can take on a true story and make it evolve gloriously on screen. Between space and the sea, the Formula 1 to mathematical formulas, he has touched upon glorious humanity in the most outlier of situations.
Now he is tackling the Fab Four in a brand new documentary.
Directed by Ron Howard, The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years (no really, that’s the length of the title. Like, any one of those parts could work as a solo title,) looks at The Beatles on tour and tells the stories that many people may not have heard of before. With interviews with the surviving members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
Not being the greatest fan of The Beatles, it’s hard to look upon this documentary as something “new” about the stars. Plus intimate touring videos get kind of dull after a while so a whole movie is going to be exhausting.
Just look at the title!
THE BEATLES: EIGHT DAYS A WEEK – THE TOURING YEARS IS OUT 15th SEPTEMBER
