Taika Waititi can do no wrong. From The Boy to What We Do In The Shadows, this New Zealand filmmakers has delighted with his special brand of humour and character depth. In fact, last year, his phenomenal indie hit The Hunt for the Wilderpeople topped many a list for ‘Best of 2016′ and made impressive waves at the Box Office.
Continuing the trend of hiring indie filmmakers to helm big blockbusters, Marvel plucked Waititi for the third instalment of Thor and the teaser has just dropped. The film revolves around Thor being imprisioned on the other side of the universe without his hammer (THAT explains why he wasn’t in Civil War.) There is a race against time to get back to Asgard in order to stop the destruction of his homeworld. But first he must compete in a gladiatorial context that pits him against his fellow avenger – the Incredible Hulk!
The impressive character list includes Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, Idris Elba’s Heimdall, and Anthony Hopkins’ Odin as well as new villain Hera played by a Gothic Cate Blanchett. There are also rumours that Doctor Strange may also appear.
For now, delight in this teaser trailer!
