Although not released to the public just yet, the first footage for Kingsman sequel, The Golden Circle was shown to audiences at CinemaCon this weekend. Following on from Matthew Vaughn’s successful Spy caper, the sequel sees Taron Egerton’s Eggsy, now a fully trained Kingsman spy, out on a new mission. His team travel to America and make contact with their American branch Statesman, including Southern spy operative Channing Tatum. Yet soon Eggsy and the agency come up against new villains from an untraceable underworld organisation.
The footage includes star Egerton in a missile filled car chase as well as first glimpse at the new character played by Tatum. The footage also confirms that Colin Firth’s Harry Hart does feature in the film. Harry was shot in the face by Supervillain Samuel L. Jackson in the first film but early reports suggested Firth would reprise his role. Egerton had posted last year, via his social media, a hint claiming ‘reports of my death have been greatly over exaggerated’ with a pair of Hart’s glasses.
As well as Egerton and Firth reprising their roles the films sees Mark Strong return as Merlin and Sophie Cookson as Roxy. As well as Tatum joining the cast the film also features newcomers Halle Berry, Elton John, Jeff Bridges, Vinnie Jones and Julianne Moore as the films new villain.
The footage went down a treat with those that were lucky enough to see it and hopefully this means a trailer cannot be far away. Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be released in cinemas this September.
