When it comes to award season, sometimes you’ll feel a bit disjointed with the choices on display. Sometimes you haven’t warmed to the Academy’s favourites or you simply disagree.
Enter the Three Empire Magazine awards, one of the few awards that allows you to vote for the winners.
A big nominee and, hopefully, winner, is Taika Watiti’s Hunt for the Wilderpeople which has nominations for Best Film, Best Comedy, Best Screenplay, and Best Newcomer for Julian Dennison. Amy Adams is redeemed for her Oscar snub with her Best Actress nod alongside Felicity Jones and the usual suspects.
Also exciting is to see Ryan Reynolds’ nomination for Deadpool. It was definitely lacking in the Academy and BAFTA run.
Here’s the full list of nominees, what do you think?
