Shia LaBoeuf has had a rather turbulent career, a number of his films (and his actions) have left him viewed as a bit of a joke when it comes to acting, but it looks like he’s turning his act around and is slowly but surely marking himself out as a respectable actor with films like American Honey and Man Down.
The latest trailer for Man Down uses its cinematography beautifully, cutting between LaBoeuf’s time in the army, and spending time with his family, the action in one setting off a reaction in the other, and helping to highlight some of the effects of PTSD that aren’t always shown in films of this genre.
The juxtaposition of cause and effect are also shown through the destruction of his family life and loss of his comrades.
Man Down looks set to be a powerful contender for the most realistic depiction of PTSD in films.
Man Down is out in cinemas March 27th!
