The Lost City of Z – New Trailer

If, like me, you’re a huge Sons of Anarchy fan, then you probably get excited at the prospect of Charlie Hunnam getting more film work now that the show is over, but also worry about the quality of it, given some past decisions. He dodged a bullet not starring in the ill fated Fifty Shades of Grey, and was good but overshadowed in Guillermo Del Toro’s Crimson Peak. Now he’s taking the lead in adventure film The Lost City of Z.

The Lost City of Z tells the incredible true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett (Hunnam), who journeys into the Amazon at the dawn of the 20th century and discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilization that may have once inhabited the region. Despite being ridiculed by the scientific establishment who regard indigenous populations as “savages,” the determined Fawcett – supported by his devoted wife, son and aide de camp returns time and again to his beloved jungle in an attempt to prove his case, culminating in his mysterious disappearance in 1925.

The Lost City of Z looks pretty interesting; we don’t have a whole lot to go on in this short trailer, but the scenery is gorgeous, the atmosphere nice, and the premise is intriguing. With a promising cast including Tom Holland, Sienna Miller and Robert Pattinson, The Lost City of Z is one to watch in 2017.

No UK release date yet, but you can catch it in the US on April 21st
