Out of all the movies getting made out of video games this year, the Assassin’s Creed adaptation is probably the most eagerly anticipated of them all, and with good reason.
The cast and director are top-notch talent, and the story itself takes the foundations of the games and builds its own story around them.
The latest trailer shows off a lot of action shots and slow motion alongside plenty of quieter moments for snippets of dialogue between Fassbender’s protagonist and Marion Cotillard’s sinister scientist.
Ultimately, there’s no way of telling whether or not this film will break the mould of mediocrity that has plagued video game adaptations time and time again, but the relatively free reign that appears to have been given to the studio suggests that there’s a good chance we’ll actually see a film worth watching instead of another lame duck.
Assassin’s Creed is out December 21st!
