Ever see a trailer and have absolutely no clue what you just watched? That was most definitely my experience with the trailer for Jordan Peele’s new film Get Out. Written and directed by the Key and Peele star, it tells the story of a young African American (Daniel Kaluuya) who visits his Caucasian girlfriend’s cursed family estate, and things go very, very wrong.

I’m not familiar with Key and Peele’s work, so I went in expecting something more broadly comical. But while the plot itself is darkly humorous, the trailer offered something far more intense and freaky than I was expecting, though it doesn’t look all that good to be perfectly honest. Maybe it’s something that fans of Peele will appreciate but as it stands, it doesn’t look too worth watching.
