Pretty much everyone I’ve spoken to about this film has been stoked. A chance to see Benedict Cumberbatch shed his regal British composure to play a regal magical American? Sign us the fuck up. Tilda Swinton as a (somewhat miscast) guru, Mas Mikkelson as the villain, AND CHIWETEL FUCKING EJIOFOR, we’re fucking in.
Doctor Strange revolves around a medical professional who, after an accident, goes soul searching in the deepest regions of the world. Under the tutelage of The Ancient One, he comes to find that there is more to this world than what it seems and begins to master the powers within it. But, like most origins stories, as soon as he learns his talents, something evil is about to come.
I did hear someone mutter that it looked ridiculous and they had a point but wrap that ridiculousness around the cast and Marvel magic and it’s so forgivable!
