Horror films nowadays are very much a mixed bag; every year we get a few good ones, and plenty of terrible ones too. And the trailers are so well made that sometimes it’s a little hard to say exactly which way it will go, which is definitely the case for Don’t Knock Twice.
When a mother (Katee Sackhoff), desperate to reconnect with the daughter she abandoned, becomes embroiled in the urban legend of a demonic witch, she must go further than she ever imagined possible to win back her child.
There’s nothing particularly wrong here; Katee Sackhoff is a good actress, the film seems creepy enough, looks like the effects are gonna be pretty good, and the plot is intriguing. It’s just a little hard to get excited for horrors these days, what with their currently shoddy track record. Still, let’s keep high hopes for Don’t Knock Twice.
Don’t Knock Twice is out March 31st
