We’re no strangers to musicians turning actors; now joining that list is Green Day’s lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, who takes the central role in Ordinary World. Perry (Armstrong) is 40 year old husband and father who is having a mid-life crisis following a rock career, now uncertain of what he wants. In an attempt to recapture his youth, he decides to celebrate his 40th birthday by throwing a messy party in a hotel room, finally reaching back to his mos fulfilling days.
Ordinary World doesn’t look bad by any means, it just looks entirely forgettable; it’ll probably be one of those films that will you’ll on DVD and go “Oh shit yeah, that came out”, then continue walking. The cast are talented, if not a bit underwhelming (Has Selma Blair ever been exciting?) and overall, the film is most likely decent, but nothing to get too excited about.
Ordinary World is out 14th October
