The upcoming sci-fi adventure Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson has been hit with a butt-load of controversy already. Too right actually. The inherent Japanese product has been grubbily scurried away by Hollywood who didn’t even think about casting a Japanese actor. Or even an American-Japanese actor. Instead, choosing to go to a bankable star has damaged the upcoming movie a lot.
The original anime is one of the most haunting and exquisite pieces of dystopian work you’ve seen revolving around the cyborg law enforcer who leads a high-tech team of police.
A series of illusive clips for the film have been released and you can see the large amount of Japanese culture on display. Is this wrong? Or are you excited for the upcoming movie?
