James Franco has always been his best when he is tackling sexuality. Howl, Milk, and more showcase a deep understanding of his characters and their stories. So why he then decides to do comedy work is beyond all of us.
The film revolves around the titular character, Michael Glatze, who was an LGBT activist who is saved from his homosexuality when he is “awakened by God.”
Directed by Gus Van Sant, the film looks to be a terrific intricate drama though has troubling ripples (the implication that someone can chose to be gay or straight.) In the hands of Gus Van Sant, however, there is certainly going to be a deeper exploration.
I Am Michael is out next year!
