Mifune: The Last Samurai – New trailer

World cinema is most definitely nowhere near as appreciated as it should be, and it’s stars tend to find little fame because of that. However, there are exceptions to the rule, and Toshiro Mifune was certainly one of them, but every big star as a story behind them as you’ll find out in Mifune: The Last Samurai.

Starring in larger than life roles in films like Yojimbo, Rashomon and Seven Samurai, Mifune quickly made a name for himself in Japanese cinema, and has since become an icon. This film sees film lovers like Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg pay tribute to one of the greats nearly 20 years after his death, with narration by Keanu Reeves, a large admirer of martial arts films. Take a look into Mifune’s personal life outside of the big screen, where he battled alcohol addiction and had a fall out with longtime collaborator Akira Kurosawa. Mifune: The Last Samurai looks to be an insightful and engaging look into Japan’s most iconic actor.
