There seem to be a lot of directorial debuts coming from actors right now. It seems that thespians are hankering to place their buttocks in the main seat and dictate stories of their own volition. With the likes of Ewan McGregor and John Karsinski, actors are flocking to the director’s chair and joining the group is Academy Award winning actresses Natalie Portman with A Tale of Love and Darkness.
The film is based on a book by Amos Oz and looks at Oz’s life during the end of the British Mandate for Palestine and the formation of the Jewish state.
The trailer showcases some impressive cinematography whilst also seeing Natalie Portman as one of the leads. Certianly, the aesthetics and emotion are already there. Can she carry the tale into something great?
What do you think?
A TALE OF LOVE AND DARKNESS IS OUT LATER THIS YEAR!
